I call this device the "wide-range variable-pitch beltbox". it's an infinitely-variable speed reducing and speed 'overdriving' device, purely mechanical. it's approx the size of a shoebox. made of steel and cast iron, 100 percent made in the USA by worthington industries. it'll either reduce or 'overdrive' the output shaft, by some wide margin, as required. it operates (presently) thru the handcrank I installed on the back, which turns a rear flatted shaft which changes the effective pitch diameters of all four internal pulleys at the same time. needless to say, that ratio can be changed (matter of fact, -should- be changed, really) while the machine is running. ratio/relationships are handwritten on paper in one of these photos...
